What it does

Everything Hermes is doing, in your hand.

Replies stream in as readable Markdown with code blocks and tables. The rest of the screen is there to show you the work.

Watch the work happen

Under a running reply, the activity feed shows reasoning, each tool call with its arguments, inline diffs, and approval requests. When the run finishes it folds into a summary you can open later. Prefer quiet? Answer only hides it.

Approve from your pocket

When Hermes pauses for permission, Kuya shows exactly what it wants to run.

All your chats, all your servers

Swipe in from the left for every chat, grouped by day, with search. Keep a connection for each Hermes you run, on your Mac, a home server, or a VPS, and switch with a tap. A laptop that goes offline still shows its chats, read only, and reconnects by itself.

Your settings live on your server

Pick the model for each chat. Browse skills and tools, see scheduled tasks, and restart the gateway. Add a provider key and Kuya checks it, then saves it to your Hermes. The app never keeps it.

Kuya Cloud · invite only

No computer to set up? We can host it.

Kuya Cloud is a small hosted Hermes that Brandon runs for friends and family. You get an email, tap Connect on your iPhone, and your agent is ready in about 30 seconds. Kuya opens already paired.

Invites go out by hand while it's being tested. There's nothing to sign up for.

    Your agent comes with models and a monthly allowance. You can switch to your own OpenRouter key any time.

  • Your messages stay yours

    The admin panel shows counts and dollars. It never shows what you write.

  • Backed up nightly

    Backups are kept for seven days, then they roll off.

  • Plain about what's visible

    The privacy policy lists exactly what the operator can and can't see.

That's what the App Store label says, and it's literal. Kuya has no analytics, no crash reporting service, no ads, and no accounts. Your messages go from your iPhone to your Hermes and the AI service you picked there. Nothing comes to us.

What is Hermes?

Hermes Agent is an open-source AI agent from Nous Research. It runs on a computer or server, talks to the AI model you choose, and can use tools, run commands, and handle scheduled tasks. Kuya is the iPhone app for talking to it.

Kuya is an independent app. It is not made by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Nous Research.

Do I need a server?

You need a Hermes Agent your iPhone can reach. That can be your own Mac or PC (Kuya Pair sets it up for you), a home server or VPS you already run, or a Kuya Cloud agent if someone invited you.

Your phone reaches it over the same Wi-Fi, or from anywhere with Tailscale. The app itself has no server of its own and no hosted agent.

What does it cost?

Kuya is $4.99, paid once on the App Store. There is no subscription and there are no in-app purchases. Kuya Pair is free, and Hermes Agent is free and open source.

The AI service you connect Hermes to may charge for what you use. That bill is between you and them.

Is my data private?

Kuya collects nothing. No analytics, no crash reporting service, no ads, no accounts. Your messages go from your iPhone to your Hermes, and from there to the AI service you picked.

Kuya Cloud agents run on a server Brandon manages, so that section of the privacy policy spells out what he can and can't see.

Which iPhone do I need?

An iPhone on iOS 27 or later. Kuya is made for iPhone only for now.

Kuya takes its name from the Tagalog word for older brother. Asking for help should feel that comfortable.
